The development follows South Sudan’s 3-2 win over Congo Brazaville in a rescheduled group K fixture played at Juba stadium on Thursday 14 November.
Today’s result leaves Congo Brazaville in the 3rd position on 4 points with no chance to equal or surpass either Uganda Cranes (10 points) or South Africa (8 points) respectively.
Congo will play Uganda Cranes in their final qualifiers game on Tuesday next week, hence a win cant help them dethrone South Africa.
Therefore, the long awaited battle between Uganda Cranes and South Africa at Namboole on Friday will hence be as one for pride and or who finishes top of group K.
Africa South Africa tomorrow, the Cranes will travel to Congo for their last group K fixture as South Africa plays host to South Sudan.
Uganda Cranes will therefore be among the 24-teams at the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Other already qualified nations are Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, DR Congo, and Egypt
